About Vote Like A Geek
A non-partisan civic information tool built by people who believe democracy runs better when voters are informed.
Our Mission
Vote Like A Geek exists for one reason: to make it easier for every eligible voter to understand their ballot before they cast it.
We are not affiliated with any political party, candidate, campaign, PAC, or advocacy organization. We do not accept political advertising. We do not endorse candidates.
We believe that an informed electorate is the foundation of a healthy democracy — and that access to clear, factual information about candidates and elections should be free and easy for everyone.
What We Do
Candidate Information
We compile publicly available information about candidates — their backgrounds, experience, education, and stated positions — and present it in a consistent, neutral format.
Voter Registration Links
We link directly to official government voter registration portals and provide state-specific deadline information.
Ballot Lookup
We help voters find out who is on their specific ballot by state and county, so there are no surprises in the voting booth.
Civic Resources
We curate links to official and nonpartisan resources for polling places, ID requirements, absentee voting, and election dates.
Our Data Sources
Candidate information is compiled from official campaign websites, public filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and state election boards, and nonpartisan sources such as Ballotpedia.
Voter registration and election information links to official government sources (vote.gov, usa.gov) and established nonpartisan organizations (NCSL, Vote.org).
We strive to keep information current and accurate, but always verify critical information with your official state or county election authority.
